MIAMI (Oct. 11, 2018) - The FIU women's soccer team fell to Middle Tennessee 4-2 at home on Thursday night, despite a furious comeback that placed the Blue Raiders on their heels.
With the win, MT improves to 9-3-1 overall and 4-1-1 in C-USA action. FIU fell to 0-14-1 and 0-6-1 in league play.Â
The Blue Raiders jumped out to a 3-0 lead on Thursday night, with goals coming at the 10th, 13th and 16th minutes of the contest. FIU did not backdown however as
Ashley Adams scored right before the half to narrow the gap at 3-1.Â
Coming out of the break,
Rayquel Berry provided a spark for the Panthers as she took a pass from
Tamia Roberts and placed her shot in the back of the net to continue the Panther comeback.Â
Alyssa Storey and
Ashley Adams led the Panthers in shots with two each on the night. Freshman Christina Velasquez stopped two Blue Raider shots.Â
UP NEXT
The Panthers will head to the Lone Star State to face Rice and North Texas on Oct. 19 and Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET.
