MIAMI (Oct. 26, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team fell to FAU on Friday night by a score of 2-1, officially ending the 2018 season for the Panthers.
FAU improves to 11-7-1 (8-1-1), while FIU falls to 0-17-1 (0-9-1) on the season. Friday's game served as Senior Day for
Emily Baragar,
Jacky Manteas,
Michaela Rouse and
Lauren Whitaker.
The Panthers struck first on Friday night in the 38th minute as the freshman combo of
Rayquel Berry and
Kaydeen Jack put FIU out in front following Berry's score.
The Owls struck right back however, as Mimi Godoy scored in the 44th minute to even the match before the break. FAU scored the go-ahead goal in the 69th minute as Emma Grissom put the Owls ahead for the eventual 2-1 victory.
Freshman goalie
Christina Velazquez stopped eight shots against the Owl offensive attack.
