The Basics
- The FIU volleyball team was only able to muster a .107 hitting percentage, while Charlotte hit at a .363 clip, as the 49ers handed the Panthers their second-consecutive straight-set loss on Friday night at Halton Arena. FIU fell 23-25, 17-25, 10-25, in 73 minutes, as it drops to 14-9 on the year and 6-3 in Conference USA play. Charlotte improves to 14-12 overall and 4-6 in C-USA.  
 
- Despite posting a .158 hitting percentage in the first set, that proved the closest set of the night for the Panthers even though FIU fell 25-23. The Panthers improved in the second, to .250, while posting a match-high 15 kills, however was only able to muster six kills and a -.167 hitting percentage in the final set. Charlotte didn't hit worse them .450 in the final two sets and recorded only six hitting errors for the match as opposed to 23 for FIU.  
 
- Margherita Bianchin (Venice, Italy) had a team-high 14 kills on the night. Abbie Hughes (Mason, Ohio) and Fabiola Plaza (Ponce, Puerto Rico) recorded 15 and a career-high 10 assists, respectively. Sheila Rojas (Miami, Fla./Southwest Miami) had a career-high 18 digs in the loss.

Up Next
The Panthers close out the week at Florida Atlantic on Oct. 28, at 12 p.m. FIU will also travel to WKU on Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. and Marshall on Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., before returning home to face Middle Tennessee on Nov. 8, at 7 p.m.
