For Gouda, this marks the third time she has earned this superlative. The recognition comes after her record breaking performance in a dual meet with Nova and Indian River on Nov. 2, where she posted a score of 347.63 from the 3-meter. In addition to a first-place finish from the 1-meter (310.20). Both of Gouda's achievements rank as top marks in the C-USA this season.
THE HUSTLER
Nominated twice for the award, Hussey picks up her first recognition of the year. The sophomore has been a dominate force for the Panthers since the 2018-19 season opened up. She has already notched nine first-place finishes. Of those nine, three were earned this past weekend. She opened the the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:45.58) and later dominated the 200 fly (2:04.28) and 400 IM (4:26.99). Her time for the 200 fly (2:04.28) is a season best for the veteran who also currently holds the second-best top time in the conference for the 400 IM (4:26.99).
After a slow start to the season, the Panthers made strides at Indian River. Of the 16 events FIU participated in last weekend, 12 ended with first-place finishes, besting Nova (161-101) and Indian River (192-106). Click

A week of training is set in place before the Panthers travel to Columbia, Missouri for the Mizzou Invitational on Nov. 15-17, which marks as the mid-season meet for FIU.
