- The No. 13-ranked FIU beach volleyball team opened its five-match week with a 3-2 victory over Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday at the FIU beach volleyball courts.
-The No. 1 pair of Margerita Bianchin and
Federica Frasca won 21-16, 21-19 improving their record to 15-1.
- At the No. 3 position,
Lina Bernier and
Madison Besterfield won 21-16, 19-21,15-10 and at No. 4 Estefanie Bethancour and
Natalia Giron won 21-10, 16-21, 15-10, improving their record to 11-5.
-The win over Florida Gulf Coast marks the Panthers' fifth-straight victory and improved the overall record to 11-5 this season.
-The Panthers continued their dominance over Florida Gulf Coast, winning their fifth-straight match, and improving their all-time record against the Eagles to 5-0.

The Panthers now head to Saint Leo, Florida, to take part in the Saint Leo Invitational, March 23-24. FIU opens the two-day event on March 23, when it takes to the sand to battle the host Lions at 3:40 p.m. FIU closes out the weekend on March 24, against Eckerd (9:40 a.m.), Jacksonville (11:40 a.m.) and Florida Southern (2:40 p.m.).
