The Basics
- The FIU men's basketball team came out of the gate quickly on Saturday night, in the regular season finale, taking a 14-7 lead on Old Dominion. The Monarchs, however, regrouped in a big way, putting together a 21-2 run – which included an 18-0 stretch – to take a 28-16 edge and blow the game open en route to a convincing 79-53 win over the Panthers. FIU drops to 14-17 overall and 8-10 in Conference USA, while ODU improves to 24-6 and 15-3 in C-USA.

Josh Stamps (Chicago, Illinois) added 13 points in the loss.

- FIU shot a dismal 27.9 percent (17-for-61) from the field on the night and hit only 2-for-22 (9.1 percent) from behind the three-point arc. The Panthers were 17-for-21 (81.0 percent) from the free-throw line on the night.
