The Basics
- The No. 10-ranked FIU beach volleyball team made quick work of UAB on Friday at the FIU beach volleyball courts, defeating the Blazers, 5-0, in just over 75 minutes. The Panthers, who did not drop a set during the entire afternoon, and only allowed more than 17 points in one set, improve their record to 19-8 overall and 6-3 in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association.

- FIU got off to a fast start with wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, to start the afternoon.
Natalia Giron and
Estefanie Bethancourt took the No. 4 match, 21-17, 21-16, and
Mariana Dal Pozzo and
Taija Thomas won, 21-14, 21-15 at No. 5.

Lina Bernier and
Erika Zembyla, playing in just their sixth match of the season together, secured the match victory for FIU with an impressive 21-9, 21-14 decision. Their nine points allowed was the fewest allowed in a first or second set since March 24 when the No. 5 pair from Florida Southern scored eight points.
