Panthers Drop Friday Night Contest at Charleston Southern


MIAMI - (Aug. 26, 2018) – The FIU women's soccer team fell in to homestanding Charleston Southern by the slimiest of margins, 1-0.
 
Charleston Southern improves to 2-0-1, while FIU falls to 0-4-0 on the season.
 
The match's lone score came in the 68th minute from CSU's Allie Crossland. 
 
FIU's Ashley Adams had game high four shots, including three on the Buc's keeper. The underclassmen duo of Sierra Moss and Izabelle Lundqvist each totaled a pair of shots. Freshman goalkeeper Christina Velazquez collected seven saves on eight shots to keep the Buccaneer offense at bay.
 
UP NEXT
FIU will finish the Eastern leg of a four-game road trip at College of Charleston (Sept. 2), before heading to the Lone Star state to face Texas Tech (Sept. 7) and SMU (Sept. 9).
