The Basics
- Santiago Patino (Orlando, Florida/Freedom) scored his fourth goal in the last three matches, however the FIU men's soccer team couldn't find a groove offensively for 90 minutes as the Panthers dropped a tough 3-1 decision to in-state foe UCF on Tuesday night at the FIU Soccer Stadium. FIU drops to 1-4 on the year while the Knights improve to 4-1-1.   
 
- UCF's Cal Jennings recorded two goals and an assist, including the game-winner in the 61' minute. He then registered an insurance goal in the 85' minute to put the match out of reach for good.
 
- After UCF's Zackary Waitman scored the first goal of the night, just over four minutes into the contest, Patino tied the match up at 1-1, in the 23' minute. The Panthers would have opportunities periodically during the rest of the match, however could not put anything together consistently.
 
- UCF held a 17-12 shots advantage on the night and a slight edge in shots on goal, 5-4.
 
- Joris Ahlinvi (Bordeaux, France) led the Panthers with four shots, while Patino had three shots with two coming on goal.
 
- FIU goalkeeper Hugo Fauroux (Cannes, France) recorded two saves on the night in the loss.
