MIAMI (Oct. 18, 2019) - Despite taking the opening set on Friday night, the FIU volleyball team couldn't hold off UTEP as the Panthers fell to the visiting Miners in four sets.
With the defeat, FIU falls to 9-9 on the year and 2-4 in C-USA action. UTEP improves to 9-10 on the year and 2-4 in league play. The final score stood at 12-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-20 in favor of the Miners.Â
FIU was led by
Gina Lipscomb in kills, as she finished with 19 on the night.
Fiorella Murillo also had double-digits in kills with 12 for the match.
Abbie Hughes aided the offensive attack with 41 assists on the night.Â

FIU hits the road this Sunday as the Panthers travel to UAB for a 2 p.m. ET matchup to kickoff a three-match road swing. FIU returns home on Friday, Nov. 1 to host North Texas at 7 p.m. ET.
