HOUSTON (Oct. 27, 2019) – The FIU volleyball team faced No. 19 Rice in a Conference USA clash on Sunday at Tudor Fieldhouse. The Panthers came up short, falling in four sets to the Owls.
With the loss, FIU dropped to 9-12 for the season and 2-7 in conference play. Rice moved to 19-1 with the victory and remained undefeated in league play. The final score of 25-22, 22-25, 25-18 and 25-21 favored the ranked Owls.
BY THE NUMBERS
Individually, Fiorella Murillo led the Panther squad with 22 kills while hitting .367 for the match. Abbie Hughes posted a team-high 37 assists while Lina Bernier tallied 24 digs.

FIU returns to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for a three-match homestand. The Panthers welcome North Texas (Nov. 1), UTSA (Nov. 3) and Marshall (Nov. 8) for the final home games of the season.
