MIAMI (Nov. 1, 2019) – The FIU volleyball team fell to Conference USA foe North Texas in a five-set thriller at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday night.
With the loss, FIU drops to 9-13 on the year with a 2-8 conference record. UNT moves to 14-8 with a 8-2 league mark. The final score of 25-22, 25-20, 24-26, 17-25 and 15-13 was in favor of the Mean Green.
BY THE NUMBERS
Three players recorded double-doubles, including Sidney Henderson, who paced the Panthers with 15 kills and notched 11 digs in the loss. Gina Lipscomb came away with 20 digs and 11 kills and Abbie Hughes tallied 58 assists and 13 digs.
Lina Bernier posted a career-best 41 digs, the second most digs recorded in C-USA this year. The record performance also tied for sixth in the nation this season.
