HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Nov.14, 2019) – The FIU volleyball team faced Southern Miss in a Conference USA clash at Reed Green Coliseum on Thursday night. The Panthers took down the Golden Eagles 25-19, 23-25, 25-21, 18-15, and 15-10 to snap a nine-match losing skid.
With the victory, FIU moved to 10-15 overall and 3-10 in conference play. The USM squad dropped to 2-26 and 0-13 against C-USA opponents.
BY THE NUMBERS
FIU recorded 65 kills while hitting .215 for the match. Sidney Henderson posted a team-high 17 kills and recorded 10 digs for a double-double. Gina Lipscomb also posted a double-double with 19 digs and 11 kills. Fiorella Murillo logged 14 kills and a squad-best eight blocks.

FIU continues its road trip with its regular-season finale taking place at Middle Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 14. The Panthers face off against the Blue Raiders at 11 a.m. ET.
