MIAMI (Nov. 15, 2019) – The FIU women's basketball team dropped a 64-49 game to North Florida on Friday evening, as the Panthers began a four-game homestand.
The Panthers are now 1-2 on the young season, while North Florida improves to 2-2.
FIU was led by
Jiselle Thomas, who scored 10 points. North Florida's Jazz Bond posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds on the night to lead all scorers.
The game was very tight early on, as the Panthers and Ospreys stayed within a field goal of each other before UNF used a 6-1 run to take a 13-8 lead after the first quarter. The Ospreys took a 29-22 lead into the break, despite a 5-0 run from FIU to end the second quarter. UNF outscored FIU 35-27 in the second half of Friday's contest as the Ospreys picked up a 64-49 win.
