MIAMI (Dec. 1, 2019) –The FIU women's basketball team closed out the FIU Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday afternoon, as the Panthers fell 67-45 to Northern Kentucky.
The Panthers are now 1-5 on the season, while Northern Kentucky improves to 4-4 on the year.
FIU was led by
Fujika Nimmo who posted 15 points, two steals and a rebound for the Panthers. NKU's Molly Glick led the Norse with 24 points on the afternoon.
NKU came out strong, as the Norse outscored FIU 17-8 during the first quarter. FIU and NKU saw a tight second quarter, with the Norse outscoring the Panthers by one field goal to take a 37-26 advantage into the half. NKU posted 15-point third quarter to extend its lead into the final period of play. Despite a close final quarter, the Panther effort was not enough as the Norse earned a 67-45 victory.
