BC jumped out to a 2-0 lead after plating back-to-back runs in the opening two innings. FIU broke into the scoring column via the long ball after
Jackie Schoff and
Jessica Rivera blasted solo homers over the center field wall in the fifth and sixth innings.
With the score tied at 2-2 in the seventh inning, BC sent its own homer over the center field wall as Gianna Boccagno gave the Eagles back the lead. The Eagles nearly had their second homer of the inning a few batters later, but Schoff robbed the ball from sneaking over the center field wall.
After rallying to get two runners on in the bottom of the seventh, BC brought in Camryn Doby as she earned the save following two outs to close the game.
