HUNINGTON, West Virginia (March 7, 2019) – The FIU women's basketball team fell to Marshall on the road Thursday night, as the Panthers dropped an 87-42 decision to the Thundering Herd to cap the 2018-19 regular season.
With the loss, FIU caps the season at 5-24 and 2-14 in C-USA play. Marshall caps the year at 16-13 and 10-6 in league action.
FIU was led once again by freshman Ce'Nara Skanes, who scored 10 points and hauled in 11 points for her ninth double-double of the season. Marshall's Taylor Porter scored a game-high 30 points, while Shayna Gore chipped in 29 on the night.
The Herd jumped out to a 22-8 advantage in the opening 10 minutes, before taking a 43-16 lead into the locker room. Marshall scored over 20 points in each of the final two quarters, while holding the Panthers to just 24 points in the second half.
