DALLAS (April 15, 2019) – After being named to USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Midseason Watch List last week, Logan Allen was named Conference USA's Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Allen had a career night on Friday, striking out 13 Southern Miss batters over six innings of three-run ball in the 6-4 Panther victory. The 13 Ks are a career-best. Allen headlined a game in which the Panther pitching staff struck out 18 Golden Eagles, which was the most ever against a C-USA opponent and the most in a game since 2013.   
 
The C-USA Pitcher of the Week award is Allen's third this season and fourth of his career.
 
The midseason All-American has posted a 1.81 ERA on the season and 85 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched for a 13.99 strikeouts-per-nine-innings mark, which ranks seventh in the country and betters the next best pitcher in C-USA by almost two strikeouts.

The road beckons for the Panthers once more as FIU travels to Daytona Beach for a midweek with Bethune-Cookman on April 16, before a weekend series at Old Dominion and a crosstown trek to Coral Gables to take on Miami to close out the five-game road trip on April 24.
