MIAMI (May 16, 2019) – In game one of the regular season series finale, the FIU baseball team fell to visiting Louisiana Tech in a 3-0 decision on Thursday night.
The Panthers and Techsters will return to the diamond on Friday night, as the two squads start up at 6 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed on

With the loss, FIU falls to 22-31 on the year and 11-17 in C-USA play. LT improves to 33-21 and 16-12 on the year.
Logan Allen was dealt the loss after allowing three runs in seven innings of work. Allen struck out 10 batters on Thursday night. LT's Matt Miller earned the win on the mound and came within one out of pitching a complete game before being pulled.
After his 22-game hit streak ended on Tuesday night at Stetson,
Austin Shenton got back into the hit column after his single in the fourth inning. The junior finished the game going 2-for-3 and has now reached base safely in 27-straight games.

Juan Teixeira each earned a hit against LT on Thursday night.
The Techsters jumped ahead in the third inning after a SAC fly brought home a runner, before a pair of runs were singled home in the sixth frame to push the lead to 3-0. After a ninth-inning single from Shenton, the Panthers had runners on the corners with two outs, but LT's Braxton Smith came in to pick up the save and preserve the 3-0 victory for the visitors.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will await their fate for the C-USA Championship in Biloxi, Mississippi, as FIU sits tied for ninth in the conference heading into the final weekend of play. The top eight teams from the league advance to the conference tournament.
