JACKSONVILLE (May 23, 2019) -
Clarissa Cutliff earned her third consecutive trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, with a high jump of 1.80m that tied for first at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida.
Cutliff, a senior from Orlando, cleared 1.80m on her first attempt to tie atop the leaderboard along with Anna Malizia from Penn and Sanaa Barnes of Villanova. The jump replicates her performance from the 2018 East Prelims in which she also placed first.
In the women's hammer, Terrissa Russell took 37th with a throw of 55.55m. Russell will also compete in the discus this weekend.
Asha James competed in the javelin, finishing in 23rd out of 48 with a throw of 47.10m. That mark is more than a meter further than her throw from the 2018 prelims, where her mark was 45.99m, and her place was 24th.
On the men's side,
Reed Service represented the Panthers in the long jump, placing 29th with a jump of 7.17m. The sophomore caps a 2019 outdoor campaign in which he earned two victories and five top-five finishes, including scoring for the Panthers at the conference.
