MIAMI (June 10, 2019) – FIU volleyball coach
Rita Buck-Crockett announced the signing of Jovana Vukcevic (Podgorica, Montenegro/College of Southern Idaho) to a National Letter of Intent. Vukcevic is expected to make an immediate impact during the 2019 campaign.
"With the addition of Jovana Vukcevic our team gains not just height but experience and the know how-to-win mentality," said Buck-Crockett. "We are extremely happy to have her be a part of our family."
A 6-foot-2 right side hitter, Vukcevic helped to guide the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) to the National Junior College Athletics Association Division I National Championship last season, and an impressive 31-2 record. The Eagles won the title after defeating Miami-Dade College, and fellow Panthers' signee, Fiorela Murillo, 3-0, in the national title match. Vukcevic was second on the Eagles in kills with 249 (2.49 kps) in 100 sets played on the year. She also finished third on the team in total blocks (67) and blocks-per-set (0.67 bps).
For her efforts on the court, Vukcevic was named the NJCAA Region 18 Tournament MVP, and was also named NJCAA All-Region 18 Second Team.
