MIAMI (June 12, 2019) – FIU Pitcher Logan Allen's brilliant 2019 season is still being rewarded as the Panther ace was selected to the 2019 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I Central All-Region Second Team by the members of the American Baseball Coaches Association.
 
Allen, who has already been named to the All-CUSA First Team and invited to the USA Baseball National Team Camp this summer, built on his Freshman All-American campaign in 2018 by leading all of C-USA with 120 Ks in 84 innings pitched for a 12.86 Ks-per-9 innings ratio to place top 15 in the nation in that category. His pitching prowess was on display when the Deltona, Florida, native went 32.2 innings without surrendering an earned run to start league play.
 
The lefty went 4-6 on the mound with a 3.11 ERA and held opposing batters to a .231 average while winning three C-USA Pitcher of the Week honors. Allen's three weekly honors as a pitcher were tied for the most in the league this past season. 

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 11,000 members represent all 50 states and 23 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth.
