MIAMI (July 15, 2019) – FIU men's basketball Head Coach
Jeremy Ballard closed out his 2019-20 recruiting class by announcing the signing of 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward Wilkenson "Kenny" Isnord (Nassau, Bahamas/DME Academy/Blanche Ely {Fla.}) to a National Letter of Intent. Isnord is one of three front court players signed by Ballard that will create a stout inside presence for the Panthers this upcoming season.
Isnord, who will enter the 2019-20 season as a freshman, joins 6-foot-9, 215-pound forward
Dimon Carrigan (Boston, Massachusetts/Odessa/Cambridge Rindge & Latin),
Sedee Keita (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/St. John's University/University of South Carolina/22 Feed Academy), 5-foot-8, 160-pound point guard
Tevin Brewer (Fort Smith Arkansas/Coffeyville Community College/Eastern Oklahoma State College/Northside Senior HS), 6-foot-4, 175-pound guard
Blake Furcron (Romulus, Michigan/Pratt Community College/Walsh University/Elyria HS), 6-foot-5, 200-pound guard/forward
Eric Lovett (Jonesboro, Georgia/Missouri State University West Plains/Jonesboro HS), and 6-foot-6, 220-pound guard/forward
Dante Wilcox (West Palm Beach, Florida/Oxbridge Academy) as newcomers to the Panthers' program. The group is expected to make an immediate impact upon their arrival for the 2019-20 season.
"We are ecstatic to announce
Kenny Isnord as the final addition to our basketball family," said Ballard. "Kenny's athleticism, skill, versatility and high motor make him the ideal fit for our unique style of play. He is a high character young man who played for highly respected local High School and AAU programs. Kenny will certainly enhance our team both on and off the court immediately."
Isnord spent the 2018-19 campaign as a postgraduate year at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida, where he averaged 5.7 points, and 3.8 rebounds-per-game. He played his scholastic basketball at Blanche Ely High School, in Pompano Beach, Florida, where he helped the Tigers to the Class 8A state title, during his senior year, averaging 6.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks-per-game. For his efforts, he was named to the All-Broward County Third Team for Boys' 9A-7A Schools by the
South Florida Sun Sentinel.
