BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Aug. 31, 2019) - In the last day for competition at the Indiana Invitational, the FIU volleyball team fell to UT Martin on Saturday as the Panthers capped the opening weekend of the 2019 season. 

FIU fell 3-1 to the Skyhawks (17-25, 14-25, 25-22, 23-25) as the Panthers fall to 0-3 on the young season. 

Sophomore setter Abbie Hughes nearly missed out on posting her first double-double of the year, after earning 40 assists and nine digs. Lina Bernier finished with a team-high 25 digs, while Fiorella Murillo posted a 25-point match after earning a career-high 21 kills and four service aces to carry the Panthers. 

UP NEXT
FIU will return home next weekend to host Panther Fest on Sept. 5-6. First match will be against Stetson on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
