MIAMI (Jan. 15, 2020) – FIU beach volleyball head coach Rita-Buck Crockett announced the team's 2020 schedule on Wednesday. The upcoming slate features three home tournaments, including the annual Surf N' Turf event in South Beach.

The Panthers begin their 2020 campaign with the UNF Beach Invitational in Jacksonville, Florida, from Feb. 21-22. The team faces Georgia State, FAU, Mercer, and tournament host North Florida during the two-day tournament.
The following week, the team hosts the FIU Beach Bash from Feb. 28-March 1. The Panthers welcome Missouri State, New Orleans, Tampa, Florida Memorial, Webber International and San Diego City College. FIU continues the homestand with a game against Palm Beach Atlantic on Mar. 10.
For the next event, the Panther squad heads to South Carolina for the Carolina Challenge from March 14-15. FIU takes on Mercer, Arizona State, North Florida, and the host Gamecocks during the two-day tournament.
The Panthers welcome FMU, Stetson, and St. Petersburg College for the Panther Beach Battle, a one-day tournament on Mar. 21.
The annual Surf N' Turf event takes place March 27-29 at the Lummus Park Beach Courts on South Beach. The competition includes 12 teams, including the four squads that appeared in last year's NCAA tournament. The Panthers are set to face Nicholls State, TCU, Stanford, Pepperdine, Cal, Stetson, FMU, and the reigning national champions UCLA.
FIU heads to Tallahassee, Florida, for a tournament from April 3-4. The two-day event includes games against Spring Hill College, Coastal Carolina, and host squad Florida State. The final event of the regular season takes place in Manhattan Beach, California from Apr. 11-12. The Panthers take on USC, UCLA, Hawaii, and Pepperdine during the East Meets West tournament.
The postseason begins with the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association tournament occurring in Huntsville, Alabama from April 17-19.
