MIAMI (Feb. 1, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team welcomed WKU to the Ocean Bank Convocation Center for a Conference USA clash on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers took down the Hilltoppers 81-76 during the league contest.
With the win, FIU moved to 15-8 for the year and 6-4 against conference opponents. WKU went to 14-8 overall and 7-3 against C-USA teams.
In the opening half, the Panthers came out on the attack, shooting 62.5% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc to lead the Hilltoppers 45-36 at halftime. Osasumwen Osaghae led FIU with 15 points and four rebounds to start the game.
Following the break, FIU's shooting percentage dropped to 44.1% from the field and just 15.4% from behind the three-point line. The Hilltoppers outscored the Panthers 40-36 in the second half, but FIU held on to top WKU 81-76.
As a team, FIU shot 53% from the field in the victory. Osaghae tied his career-best when he recorded 22 points in the win, and Antonio Daye, Jr. tallied nine assists, also matching his career-high.

The Panthers prepare for Senior Day on Wednesday, Feb. 5, when the team hosts Florida Atlantic in the final home game before the start of C-USA bonus play. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
