RUSTON, Louisiana (Feb. 13, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team faced Louisiana Tech in a Conference USA Battle at the Thomas Assembly Center on Thursday night. The Panthers fell to the Bulldogs 60-57 during the road contest.

With the loss, FIU goes to 17-9 for the season and 8-5 in league play. LA Tech moved to 18-7 this year and 9-4 against C-USA opponents.

In the first half, the teams went back-and-forth with the Bulldogs holding the slight 29-28 advantage as both sides visited the locker room. The Panthers shot 37.9% from the field but just 15.4% from beyond the arc in the opening stanza. Devon Andrews led the squad with 10 points while Eric Lovett paced the team with four rebounds

Following the break, FIU went 41.4% from the field and held the opposition to just 39.3% shooting. However, the team shot 25% from the foul line turning the second half, and the opposition outscored the Panthers 31-29 to hand FIU the 60-57 loss.

The Panthers closed out the game shooting 39.7% from the field and 24% from three during the loss. Andrews led all players with 22 points. Isaiah Banks posted double figures, scoring 13 points in the loss. Osasumwen Osaghae tallied 11 rebounds and five blocks during the contest.
