MIAMI (Feb. 14, 2020) - FIU women's tennis caps a three-week homestand on Sunday, Feb. 16, when they host the Memphis Tigers at 12 p.m. on the FIU Tennis courts.

The Panthers continue to prosper, having picked up their third win of the spring season after defeating Liberty 4-3 on Friday, Feb. 7. Entering the fourth-straight weekend of competition FIU sports a 3-1 record and is undefeated on the home turf.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
The Tigers (3-3) are currently on a two-match winning streak. After losing no student-athletes to graduation, the Tigers bring back a wealth of experience, including all-conference player Laura Bente, who went 13-2 at the two spot last year.

WHAT RETURNS
FIU is led by junior Sandra Bozinovic and the sophomore duo of Umarova and Akbas. The veteran group led the Panthers to an 11-8 record last season and were 4-1 overall in conference play. FIU built a nine-match win streak during the year, on its way to a quarterfinal appearance at the C-USA Championships.

WHAT'S NEW
The Panthers welcome a crop of four newcomers this season. Marina Alcaide, a junior transfer from VCU, along with three new freshmen; Ashley VielmaFrancisca Vergara and Kristina Miletic are the newest additions to the 2019-20 roster.

UP NEXT
The Panthers travel to Huntington, West Virginia on Feb 22-23 to take on North Texas and Marshall.
