MIAMI (Feb. 21, 2020) - Logan Allen pitched another gem for the Panthers on Friday night, as FIU baseball topped George Mason, 5-2.
With the win, FIU stays unbeaten at 5-0. The Panthers have now outscored opponents 57-12 on the year.
Allen tied his career-high for strikeouts in the win, as the lefty fanned 13 batters. Allen pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed just one hit to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Luis Chavez led the Panthers with a pair of RBI, as his two-run single in the sixth lifted the score to 5-0.
Juan Teixeira earned a pair of base knocks to go 2-3 on the night.
KEY STAT
The Panther pitching staff struck out 16 batters in total, which was the most since April 12, 2019 against Southern Miss (18).
