DALLAS (Feb. 24, 2020) – After tying a career-high in strikeouts on Friday night against George Mason, FIU baseball's
Logan Allen was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The preseason All-American and C-USA Pitcher of the Year tossed seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball in the Panthers' series-opening 5-2 victory against the Patriots of George Mason, while also fanning 13 batters in the process.
Allen's 13 K's not only tied a career-high, but also propelled the lefty to eighth all-time on FIU's strikeout list. The outing was Allen's 10th career performance with at least 10 or more strikeouts in a game.
Allen has now been named C-USA Pitcher of the Week five times over his career.
