MIAMI (Feb. 27, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team began Conference USA Bonus Play by hosting North Texas at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Thursday night. The Panthers fell to the Mean Green 78-59 for just the squad's second loss at home this season.

With the loss, FIU moves to 17-11 overall and 8-7 against conference teams. UNT goes to 19-10 for the season and 13-3 in league play.

The Panthers began the game shooting 44% but went to the locker room trailing 46-28. Despite Osasumwen Osaghae leading FIU with 13 points in the first half, the team was outscored 18-12 in the paint and 13-5 off second-chance points.

Coming out of the break, FIU went 11-29 from the field but 0-7 from beyond the arc. The Panthers kept the half close, trailing just 32-31 in the second period, but the team fell to North Texas 78-59.

Overall, the Panther squad shot 40.7% from the field in the loss. Osaghae led the team with 18 points and four blocked shots. Cameron Corcoran tallied 10 points and five assists for FIU.
