MIAMI (Feb. 28, 2020) – The No. 14 FIU beach volleyball team began the FIU Beach Bash on Friday. The team went 2-0 on their home courts, topping Webber International and New Orleans. The contest against San Diego City College was postponed to Saturday, Feb. 29 at 6 p.m. ET.
FIU moved to 5-1 with the sweeps, while Federica Frasca and Margherita Bianchin remained undefeated on court one. Gina Lipscomb and Lina Bernier also posted a great day, as the pair did not drop a set on Friday. The tandem topped WIU 21-8, 21-9 and UNO 21-14, 21-14.
UP NEXT
The Panthers look to play three duals on Saturday, Feb. 29, the final day of the FIU Beach Bash tournament. The team takes on Missouri State at 10:30 a.m., followed by Tampa at 4:30 p.m. The last dual is set to take place at 6 p.m. against San Diego City College.
