RUSTON, Louisiana (March 4, 2020) – The FIU men's basketball team faced Conference USA foe Louisiana Tech at the Thomas Assembly Center during the squad's final road game of the regular season. The Panthers fell to the Bulldogs 76-73.

A Cameron Corcoran three-pointer made it just a two-point game with 13 seconds left, but the Bulldogs scored a basket in the ensuing possession to pull away for the eventual win. 

With the loss, FIU goes to 18-12 overall and 9-8 in league play. LA Tech moves to 21-8 this season and 12-5 against C-USA opponents.

The Panthers opened the contest shooting just 33.3% from the field and 22.2% from beyond the arc. FIU outscored the opposition 22-16 in the paint but trailed the Bulldogs 38-29 at the half. Osasumwen Osaghae led FIU with nine points and two steals going into the locker room.

FIU improved on its performance in the second half, going 16-30 overall and 6-15 from three. The team outscored the Bulldogs 44-38 in the second stanza, but the Panthers fell to LA Tech 76-73.

Overall, FIU shot 42% from the field and went 33.3% from three. Individually, Osaghae posted a double-double when he recorded a team-high 15 points and 10 rebounds. Corcoran went 3-4 from beyond the arc and tallied 11 points in the loss.
