MIAMI (Oct. 15, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball team dropped a Conference USA contest to Florida Atlantic at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday afternoon. The score stood at 25-19, 25-16, 25-18 in favor of the visiting Owls.
The Panthers moved to 3-11 overall and 0-5 against league opponents. FAU improved to 10-10 this season with a 2-5 C-USA record.
Overall, FIU posted 30 kills and a .141 hitting percentage. The team also recorded 27 assists, 27 digs and eight blocks during the loss.
Giada Bianchi logged a squad-high six kills in the match. Defensively,
Jade Sadeiko tallied six bocks and
Valeria Santos posted seven digs.
The Panthers battle the Owls for a second time on Saturday, Oct. 16. First serve from the series finale is set for 1 p.m. ET.
