MIAMI (Oct. 16, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team closed out its Conference USA series with Florida Atlantic at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers topped the Owls with a score of 25-19, 25-23, 25-9.
FIU goes to 4-11 overall and 1-5 against league opponents while FAU moved to 10-11 this season and 2-6 in C-USA play.
Overall, the Panthers posted 36 kills and hit .198 for the match while holding FAU to 28 kills and a .000 hitting percentage. The Blue and Gold also logged 35 assists, 48 digs, 15 blocks and five service aces.
Giada Bianchi led FIU with 13 kills during the victory, and
Fiorella Murillo followed closely behind with 10.
Ella Erteltova posted 34 assists while
Valeria Santos recorded a squad-best 16 digs.
Jade Sadeiko and
Yaniris Miller-Green each tallied six blocks.
The Panthers hit the road for a series at Old Dominion from Oct. 22-23. The first contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET while the second match is slated for 2 p.m. ET.
