MIAMI (Oct. 29, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball team topped Charlotte 3-0 during a Conference USA match at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Friday afternoon. The score stood at 25-14, 25-23, 25-14 in favor of the Panthers.
With the victory, the Panthers have won four straight, improving the Blue and Gold to 7-11 overall and 4-5 in conference play. Charlotte dropped to 12-9 this year and 5-4 against league opponents.
As a team, FIU held the advantage over the 49ers in kills (43-30), digs (43-36), assists (33-26) and blocks (12-7).
Fiorella Murillo led the team with 15 kills.
Giada Bianchi added a double-double when the freshman logged 11 kills and 10 digs. Defensively,
Valeria Santos paced the team with 18 digs, and
Jade Sadeiko recorded six blocks for the Panthers.
The Blue and Gold face off against Charlotte once more on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. ET. Prior to first serve, there will be a special ceremon to honor the Panther seniors.
