MIAMI (Oct. 30, 2021) - The FIU indoor volleyball Senior Day was one to remember as the Panthers topped Conference USA foe Charlotte in a five-set thriller at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon. The score stood at 17-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 18-16 in favor of the Blue and Gold.
The win marked the team's fifth-straight victory, helping the team improve to 8-11 this year and 5-5 against C-USA opponents. The 49ers dropped to 12-10 overall and 5-5 in league play.
Overall, FIU tallied 60 kills and hit .203 from the match. The Panthers added 107 digs, 66 assists, 12 blocks and six service aces.
Giada Bianchi posted a stellar performance, logging 25 kills, 23 digs and three aces.
Fiorella Murillo recorded 18 kills and 14 digs for a double-double on Senior Day.
Valeria Santos logged 29 digs during her final time on the Panthers' home court.
UP NEXT
The Panthers hit the road for the final time this season when the team heads to Marshall for its last Conference USA series of the year from Nov. 5-6. The first contest is scheduled for 6 p.m. while the second match is slated for 2 p.m.
