MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (Oct. 8, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team dropped a Conference USA match to Middle Tennessee at Alumni Memorial Gym on Friday afternoon. The score stood at 15-25, 25-15, 28-26, 25-20 in favor of the Blue Raiders.
With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in conference play. MT improved to 6-5 this season and 4-1 against league opponents.
As a team, FIU recorded 49 kills with an .230 hitting percentage during the loss. Defensively, the Panthers tallied 52 digs and 12 blocks. Individually,
Fiorella Murillo led the Panthers with a season-high 17 kills during the match.
Giada Bianchi posted her fifth double-double this season when the freshman logged 13 kills and 11 digs.
Camila De La Rosa recorded 34 of the team's 43 assists while
Myrthe Maring posted a squad-best 10 blocks.
The Panthers will look to rebound during the series finale against the Blue Raiders. First serve from tomorrow's match is slated for 2 p.m. ET.
