MIAMI (Feb. 24, 2021) – The 13th-ranked FIU beach volleyball team hosts Florida Memorial for a dual at the FIU Beach Volleyball Courts on Thursday, Feb. 25. First serve from the season opener is set for 9 a.m. ET.

FIU went 8-1 overall and 5-0 at home during the abbreviated 2020 season. Two-time America Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Americans Federica Frasca and Margherita Bianchin went undefeated on court one during the season. Frasca returns for the Panthers in 2021 and was named to the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Preseason All-Conference Team for a third-straight season on Wednesday.

Also returning for the Panthers are Gina Lipscomb and Lina Bernier. The duo went undefeated on court three in 2020, with the pair not dropping a single set during their impressive run. Bernier received recognition from the CCSA as well on Wednesday, after being named to the watch list for a second-straight year in 2021.

UP NEXT
Following the home dual, FIU hits the road for the Stetson Spring Fling. FIU opens the tournament with duals against No. 14 South Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 27, at noon and No. 15 TCU at 4 p.m. The Panthers close out the tournament when the team faces the 11th-ranked Hatters at 10 a.m. and No. 12 Florida Atlantic at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
