MIAMI (Feb. 7, 2021) - The FIU divers will welcome FAU, FGCU and Miami on Monday, Feb. 8, as the Panthers host the annual South Florida Diving Invitational. 

Action at the Coral Springs Aquatic Center will get underway at 10:45 a.m. ET. 

"I'm very excited for [Monday's] meet," said Diving Coach Nick Yang. "This will be the first time that our freshmen divers compete in a platform event. I'm ready to see some fantastic dives on the tower." 

With back-to-back C-USA weekly award sweeps under their belts, the FIU divers will look to continue momentum as the Panthers prepare for the Conference USA Championships on Feb. 25-27. FIU has defeated all three teams that will be visiting Coral Springs on Monday, taking down the Hurricanes, Eagles and Owls in consecutive dual-meets this past January. 

"Competition is always a good thing," said Coach Yang. "It holds us accountable to be at our best, and tomorrow's meet will give our freshmen an idea of where they are before [C-USA Championships]."

The invitational on Monday will begin with the 3-meter dive, and be followed by the 1-meter and platform events at 12:00 p.m. ET. Freshmen divers Haley Bujeda and Alexa Lemus Hernandez will be looking to make a splash from the platform.
