MIAMI (Feb. 8, 2021) – The FIU indoor volleyball team faced Old Dominion in a Conference USA clash at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Monday afternoon. The Panthers swept the Monarchs for their first-ever win over ODU. The final score stood at 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.
As a team, FIU posted 34 kills and hit .321 for the match while holding the Monarchs to a -.033 hitting clip. The Panther squad recorded just nine hitting errors while forcing 27 by Old Dominion during the three-set victory.
Emily Meyer led the way for the Panthers, posting 12 kills on hitting .435 for the match. Valeria Santos posted a squad-best 15 digs and four service aces, including three-straight during the third set. Catherine Lederman paced FIU with 22 assists, while Yaniris Miller-Green tallied six blocks for the Blue and Gold.
The Panthers battle the Monarchs once more on Tuesday, Feb. 9. First serve from the Ocean Bank Convocation Center is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
