MIAMI (March 20, 2021) - No. 13 FIU beach volleyball topped North Florida and Florida Memorial during the final day of the Panther Beach Battle at the FIU Beach Courts on Saturday. The Panthers took down FMU 5-0 and UNF 4-1.
Gina Lipscomb and Lina Bernier moved to 15-1 this season when the pair won on court one 21-4, 21-8 against FMU and 24-22, 21-19 on court two against UNF. The duo has won 13-straight matches this year. On court five, Rachele Mancinelli and Giada Bianchi topped the Lions 21-19, 21-16 and the Ospreys 21-17, 21-16. The Italian pair is 11-2 in 2021, winning their last eight matches.
FIU closes out its home slate with its annual Surf & Turf tournament on March 26-27. The Panthers are set to face Tampa, Tulane, Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast during the two-day event.
