BOWLING GREEN, Kentucky (March 20, 2021) - After dropping the doubles point, the FIU women's tennis team bounced back to take five singles matches and earn a 5-2 win over WKU on the road.
With the win, FIU improves to 6-0 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. The win on Saturday gives the program its first 6-0 start since 1994. The Panthers began that season 14-0.

After falling behind 1-0, FIU won three-straight courts in singles action as
Andjela Skrobonja,
Marina Alcaide and
Andreea Velcea all won in straight-sets.
With the score at 3-2,
Kamila Umarova clinched the win on court one with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
Francisca Vergara won her third-set tiebreaker as well, to move the final score to 5-2 in favor of the Panthers
Alcaide and Velcea are both 6-0 now in singles play, while Umarova also stays unbeaten at 5-0.

FIU travels to Middle Tennessee on Sunday, March 21, as the Panthers look to close out their first weekend of C-USA play. First serve is slated for Noon ET.
