MIAMI (March 25, 2021) – The No. 13 FIU beach volleyball team hosts its final home matches of the season as a part of the Surf & Turf Invitational from March 26-27 at the FIU Beach Volleyball Courts. The Panthers welcome Tampa, Tulane, No. 12 Florida Atlantic and No. 20 Florida Gulf Coast for the two-day tournament.

The Panthers open the tournament against Tampa on Friday, March 26, at 1:15 p.m. ET. The team closes out the day with a battle against rival FAU at 4:45 p.m. On Saturday, March 27, FIU takes on Tulane at 11:30 a.m. and FGCU at 3 p.m.

FIU enters the weekend with a 14-4 record overall and an impressive 10-0 mark at home this season. The Panthers have won 10-straight matches on the year, with their last loss coming at then-ranked No. 11 TCU.

The Panthers are familiar with a pair of opponents at this weekend's tournament, having faced FAU and FGCU earlier this season. Against the Owls, FIU fell 3-2, with Lina Bernier and Gina Lipscomb winning on court three 21-16, 21-14 and Rachele Mancinelli and Giada Bianchi taking court four 21-14, 14-21, 15-12. During the squad's win against the Eagles, Roberta Ribeiro and Federica Frasca took court one 21-15, 21-23, 15-9.
