Panthers Drop Friday Pair to Open Weekend

FIU plays two more on Saturday

BOCA RATON, Florida (March 5, 2021) - The FIU softball team dropped two close contests on Friday to Illinois State and Pittsburgh, as the Panthers opened up play at the FAU Invitational. 

The Panthers will have a rematch against Illinois State on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., before closing out play versus Coastal Carolina at 3:00 p.m. 

FIU's Gaby Ruiz earned her first career RBI as a Panther, after the freshman singled home Kayla Whitehead against Pitt. 

UP NEXT
Following Saturday's pair of games in Boca Raton, the Panthers will travel to Orlando on Thursday, March 11, for a game against UCF.
