FORT WORTH, Texas (March 6, 2021) – The 14th-ranked FIU beach volleyball team closed out the Horned Frog Challenge with duals against Central Arkansas and Southern Miss on Saturday morning. The Panthers swept the Beach Bears 5-0 and roasted the Golden Eagles 4-1.
Abbie Hughes and Paige Kalkhoff won on court three in commanding fashion, topping Central Arkansas 21-2, 21-14. The duo won 21-14, 21-7 on court two during the dual against Southern Miss. Rachele Mancinelli and Giada Bianchi took down the Beach Bears 21-13, 21-12 on court five and the Golden Eagles 21-18, 21-13 on court four.
For the team's next contests, FIU returns home for the FIU Beach Bash from March 12-13.
