MIAMI GARDENS, Florida (April 1, 2021) – The No. 14 FIU beach volleyball team swept St. Thomas (Fla.) and host-Florida Memorial at the FMU Beach Courts on Thursday. The victories put the Panthers at 19-5 for the 2021 season.
The Panthers dominated on court one with
Federica Frasca and
Roberta Ribeiro topping FMU 21-11, 21-14 and STU 21-11, 21-7.
Gina Lipscomb and
Lina Bernier went undefeated on court three, taking down the Lions 21-4, 21-9 and the Bobcats 21-11, 21-13. Italian duo
Rachele Mancinelli and
Giada Bianchi knocked off FMU 21-17, 21-10 and STU 21-9, 21-7 on court five.
The Panthers head to Tallahassee, Florida, for the Unconquered Invitational from April 9-10. FIU is set to face off against Coastal Carolina, North Florida, No. 11 Florida Atlantic and No. 2 Florida State during the two-day tournament.
