MIAMI (April 10, 2021) – The FIU baseball team dropped Saturday's doubleheader to Charlotte, as the visiting 49ers claimed the Conference USA series.
 
Adrian Figueroa extended his reached safely streak to 16 games with two hits that included a RBI double in game one and a base knock in game two. Justin Farmer and Luis Chavez each drove in a run as well.
 
Dante Girardi joined Figueroa as the only Panthers with a hit in both games.
 
Charlotte jumped out to a 3-0 lead in game one before FIU stormed back to tie the game in the seventh at four-all. Charlotte scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh to earn the win.
 
In game two, the long ball was the difference as the 49ers hit two solo shots that proved to be enough to take the series.  

UP NEXT
The series finale between FIU and Charlotte is slated for Noon on Sunday.
