MIAMI (April 8, 2021) - The No. 15 FIU beach volleyball team hits the road for the Unconquered Invitational hosted by Florida State on April 9-10. The Panthers are set to battle Coastal Carolina, North Florida, No. 13 Florida Atlantic and the No. 3 Seminoles during the two-day event at the Seminole Beach Volleyball Courts.

FIU faces some familiar opponents at the tournament in UNF and FAU. The Blue and Gold went 2-0 against the Ospreys, both 4-1 victories, during the Panther Beach Battle. The Owls hold the 2-0 advantage over the Panthers this season, with FAU winning both duals 3-2.

The Panthers come into the weekend having won four-straight duals. Last week, FIU swept both Florida Memorial and St. Thomas (Fla.). FIU is led on court one by Roberta Ribeiro and Federica Frasca. The duo is 18-4 this season with a 17-3 mark on court one. Gina Lipscomb and Lina Bernier come into the weekend at 21-3 on the season with a 12-2 record on court three. Paige Kalkhoff and Abbie Hughes are 19-3 for the year and a combined 14-0 on courts three and four.

FIU opens the Unconquered Invitational on Friday with contests against Coastal Carolina at 8 a.m. ET and FSU at 11:30 a.m. The Panthers battle UNF at 9:45 a.m. and FAU at 1:15 p.m. during the final day of the tournament on Saturday, April 10.
