MIAMI (July 14, 2021) – FIU baseball's
Justin Farmer signed a free agent deal with the San Diego Padres on Wednesday becoming the second Panther to join the pro rank this week after
Tyler Myrick was selected in the 14th round by the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.
Farmer played mostly right field for the Panthers during his two seasons in Miami. The hard-hitting outfielder led FIU in home runs (9), runs batted in (41) and total bases (77) during the 2021 campaign.
In the shorten 2020 season, Farmer batted .375 with one home run and 13 RBI in 15 games while leading the Panthers with five doubles.
